Organizing on Sundays

I haven't really said how I am doing any of this, so I thought I would show you how I organize my Sunday papers in savings for later in the week. I even had the forethought to take pictures!

Today's paper has FOUR inserts! Awesome for savings. Killer on my back and butt. Instead of spreading out in the living room floor, today I decided to swamp the kitchen table.

I start out with ten papers. I move them to a chair so that the surface of my table is free. One chair is for the papers I haven't sorted through yet, and one is for what's leftover for recycling.

As I pull the papers apart, I stack like things together. All the Redplums go in one stack. The P&G Savers in another. I also stack all of the sales papers that are relevant to my family in one large stack, and I go through those later.

Once everything is sorted, I choose my first insert to go through. I rip off the first page, leaving the rest of the insert intact. Then I stack the ripped off pages perpendicular to each other as I rip all of the pages out of the inserts.

It sounds more complicated than it is, so I took a picture of this process, as well.

The "Big Game. Bold BBQ." is my next page to be ripped out. You can see that other pages are stacked at the bottom of the picture.

After I sort the pages, I cut out the coupons and put them into my notebook. It's getting a bit large...

I'll have to do another post on going through the sale papers. That is an entirely different process (at least for me).

Ok, so do you just stack them so you only have to cut one time instead of 10 times? This process is amazing. I want to see more pics of your coupon book and how it is organized.

I am totally impressed. Fo real. Yes, I said, "Fo real." It is not a typo. I am just THAT impressed.

Kristina,
I do stack them, but normally I cut them by 5's since 10 seems to be too thick. The papers slide, if that makes sense, and it makes for a weird cut.
I'll try to write about my notebook tomorrow. I have a CP to avoid, you know? ;)

Amanda,
I bought them at Target, up in the front near the registers. They are indeed baseball card holders, and they work great!
The only problem is, my binder is too small! It's a 3", and I'm thinking I need to upgrade to a 6".
