Generalizing!

There's a known fact in special education that in order for a student to truly learn something, they have to be able to generalize the skill into other areas of their life. For me, this generalizing begins in the form of internet shopping.

Here's what I bought:

1 box Pampers scented baby wipes- 720 count. It was on sale on www.Amazon.com for $17.86- down from $25. I signed up for the Subscribe and Save, which discounted the wipes to $12.50 AND that included shipping. Paid for my purchase and then, I canceled my subscription. ;)

Paid: $12.50. Saved: $12.50. 50%!

Then, since my kids' shoes are literally falling apart (poor children), I went onto www.childrensplace.com and checked out their sales.

Here's what I bought:
1 V neck camo sweater
1 plaid oxford
1 hooded sweater dress in blue
1 hooded sweater dress in pink
1 size 12 pair of boys skull shoes (I know, skulls... Boys are weird.)
1 size 11 pair of girls glitter shoes (Yes, Allie's 5, Elijah's 3, and his feet are bigger than hers!)

Retail for the clothes/What I actually paid:
Sweater: $19.50/$4.24
Oxford: $16.50/ $4.24
Sweater Dresses: $26.50 each/$4.24 each, so $8.48
Skull shoes: $16.50/ $14.03
Glitter shoes: $24.50/ $20.83

Retail: $130 Spent: $51.82 Saved: $78.18! I saved 60%!

The shoes will be worn completely to bits by summer, but the clothes are a size up from where the kids are currently. They can still wear them, but there's room to grow, so they will make it a full year.
I looked online and found a coupon code for TCP on www.retailmenot.com, and it saved me 15% off the already discounted prices.

I'm really proud of myself!

Ha ha! Sarah, he's HUGE! He's in a 5T shirt and 4T pants. You can see why I want to buy clothes at a discount! He only wears them for a few months- sometimes weeks!
